—————————

Staff members from the West Virginia Commission on the Arts (WVCA) will be in Martinsburg on September 29 to host a grant workshop for individual artists and on September 30 will host a meeting as part of their statewide “Listening Tour.” This will be a key opportunity to help WVCA staff understand the needs of the arts in the Eastern Panhandle Region.

The free events will be held at The Arts Centre Gallery at 300 West King Street in Martinsburg and is also co-hosted by the Berkeley Arts Council and the Heritage Craft Center of the Eastern Panhandle.

The workshop is Wednesday, September 29 from 6-8 pm.

The grant workshop is for individual artists who would like to know more about how to apply for state grants, including the Professional Development Grant Program.

The “Listening Tour” meeting is Thursday, September 30 at 5:30 pm

The information gathered will be used to develop new programs and to review policies for grants available to communities, schools and individual artists with state and federal funding. The meeting is open to all arts administrators, arts educators, artists, art patrons and interested members of the general public who wish to participate in these informal conversations. The arts staff will provide discussion starter questions to begin the conversation.

Please spread the word!

We hope to have a strong turnout for these events to show WVCA that there is an active arts community in the region. Please forward this on to any artists or arts organizations you know of who might not receive this directly.
