The Berkeley Art Works will open its doors at 116 North Queen Street in Martinsburg for the first time tomorrow at 12:00. A project of the Berkeley Arts Council, “The Works” will feature an artists’s co-op, exhibits, art classes and workshops, and other special events. The Art Works first workshop offering will be a pair of Beginning Acrylics Painting Samplers this Saturday, July 13. From 9am-Noon; Beginning Acrylics Painting Sampler for High School Students Ages 13-18 yrs and from 1pm-4pm; Beginning Acrylics Painting Sampler for Adults Ages 18yrs and up. The artists’ co-op features paintings, photographs, jewelry and other hand made items by local and regional artists and artisans. Artists who are interested in joining the co-op can find out more at http://artworks.berkeleyartswv.org/artists.php.

The Berkeley Art Works, a service of the Berkeley Arts Council, is the realization of the long-held dream of the arts community in Martinsburg and Berkeley County West Virginia: to have a community-based arts facility that supports local and regional artists, brings quality arts experiences for the members of the public, and provides a wide range of arts learning experiences for local residents, artists, and artisans.
