On Saturday three budding artists started in the Berkeley Art Works “Junior Art Academy”, a six-week class for young artists between 7 and 9 years of age.
The first session was taught by Teaching Artist Hilda Eiber, who talked with the students about French artist Henri Matisse and worked with them to create their own masterpieces.

The next session of the Junior Art Academy will be held Saturday, October 26 and will be followed by four more Saturday sessions, each featuring a different classical artist. Spaces are still available for the five remaining weeks. Details and registration information are on the Berkeley Art Works web site.
The Berkeley Art Works, a project of the Berkeley Arts Council, is the realization of the long-held dream of the arts community in Martinsburg and Berkeley County West Virginia: to have a community-based arts facility that supports local and regional artists, brings quality arts experiences for the members of the public, and provides a wide range of arts learning experiences for local residents, artists, and artisans.
