Birth art combines art with intuition to prepare for childbirth. Tailored exercises allow you to access the part of your brain you will need to use when you are in labor, and gets to the images and feelings you have in your subconscious mind about giving birth and parenting. The discussion allows you to find solutions for any issues that may come up during the art making process. I am a certified birth and postpartum doula and a certified childbirth educator. I’m here to help to guide you to give birth and parent the best way you can!

Do you have a little bit of drawing experience? Do you want to learn to work with pen and ink (colored and black) and produce beautiful pen and ink drawings? I will review the basics of drawing should you need some review, no worries! I ask that you bring in potted plants, flowers, fruit or even vegetables for drawing. These plants and fruit can be arranged to make an interesting composition and appear three-dimensional and realistic with proper attention to perspective and application of artistic technique. Upon completion of this workshop, you will have a well-drawn pen and ink image that you will be proud to frame and hang!

Oil Painting is a wonderful, forgiving form of painting that is excellent for beginning painters. Its slow dry times and re-workable surface are excellent for making changes. Blending colors in oils is very beautiful. The colors retain their rich hues and look fresh for many, many years. In this workshop, you will remind yourself that Spring is coming with the focus on plants! You will complete a botanical painting that you will be proud to frame and display in your home.

It was my honor and pleasure to serve as juror for the 11th Annual Eastern West Virginia Juried Exhibit at the Berkeley Arts Council. My thanks to the Berkeley Arts Council for trusting me with this endeavor and walking me through the process to ensure its success.
It was inspiring to see the wealth of talent we have here in the eastern panhandle. The abundance of strong entries presented a challenge when narrowing down the number to be exhibited.
