Berkeley Arts Council Offers New Saturday Workshops

The Berkeley Arts Council announced two new Saturday workshops for adults and teens to be presented at the Berkeley Art Works, 116 North Queen Street in Martinsburg.

Cartooning and Book Illustration will be presented on Saturday, May 31 from 1-5 pm and Wildlife and Nature in Acrylics will be on Saturday, June 7 from 1-5 pm. The instructor for both of these workshops will be Kristina Hoffman.

The Cartooning and Book Illustration workshop will feature the drawing and development of cartoon figures and story boards for graphic novels and comics. Experience an exciting approach to creating art using cartoon, anime, and comic book characters. Kristina is an experienced art teacher and professional artist, happy to share this unique art experience with the participants.

The Wildlife and Nature in Acrylics workshop will feature painting  wildlife and nature.  The instructor will review painting basics:  techniques specific to painting with acrylics, mixing colors, optical texture and layers. Kristina will also educate students on Wildlife Conservation with real facts about how to protect and respect wildlife and nature.

Kristina Hoffman is a Shepherd University graduate with a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree in Drawing and Painting. Over the years she has developed her own creative style of illustrative art and storytelling inspired by the classic cartoons and comic books of her youth. She is happy to share her talent and experience with anyone willing to learn
