Entries are closed for Photo18 and the work is to the juror, Frank Herrera. 108 images were submitted by 41 artists from 13 states. We’re looking forward to seeing Frank’s selections.
The Berkeley Arts Council in Martinsburg, West Virginia announces its 2018 Juried Photography Exhibit, to be displayed in the Berkeley Art Works Gallery, 116 North Queen Street in Martinsburg. The exhibit will be on display July 11 – August 11, 2018.
The theme for the exhibit is open. The exhibit is open nationally to all photographers without restriction to technique.
Projected awards fund $500. Other prizes depending on entries.
Entries must have been created by the artist within the past three years and have not been exhibited in the Berkeley Art Works gallery.
The Juror for the exhibit is Frank Herrera.
Frank ‘Tico’ Herrera has pursued a freelance career devoted to commercial and art photography since 1968 and since 1975 he has been affiliated with Glen Echo Park, a part of the National Park Service, as an artist-instructor. He has also taught at the Corcoran School of Art in Washington, DC and Shepherd College in Shepherdstown, West Virginia. His work has won numerous awards and is included in public and private collections nationwide. He splits his time between residences in Washington, DC and Martinsburg, West Virginia.
Entry Fee:
The entry fee for the exhibit is $35 for the first two works. Artists may submit one or two additional works for $10 each for a maximum of four works. You will be able to pay the fee with a credit card after uploading your images.

Entry Instructions:
Entries for Photo18 exhibit must be submitted as digital images for jurying. You may submit up to four images to be juried for this exhibit.
The image file format should normal (“baseline”) JPEG. Do not save as “progressive JPEG. The images should be 1200 pixels on the long dimension with the other dimension proportional. Save at 72 PPI at high quality setting (8 out of 10 or 80% is good.) Set your filename to lastname_title_WxHxD_entrynumber.jpg (example: jones_pretty-girl_11x14x1_no1.jpg).
Accepted Work
If accepted, the original works must be ready for hanging and must not exceed 36 inches in width, including frame. Dimensions should include the frame.

All work must arrive between July 2 and and July 8, 2018. For hand delivered work, The Berkeley Art Works hours are Wed (July 4)Thu (July 5) 11-5, Fri (July 6) 11-5, Sat (July 7) 10-5, Sun (July 8) 12-3.
Shipping:
The Berkeley Art Works does not receive US Mail at the gallery address. Do not ship to the gallery address by US Postal Service. Please use UPS or FEDEX. If you are unable to use UPS or FEDEX to ship your work, please email us for instructions.
Work must be shipped prepaid to The Berkeley Art Works in sturdy, reusable packing. (Please no styrofoam peanuts!) Plexiglass must be used on all shipped works, no glass. Please email us with tracking information at berkeleyartswv@gmail.com.
Shipped works must arrive between July 2 and July 6, 2018 for inclusion in the exhibit. Note that the July 4 Holiday falls within this period. Please plan accordingly.
A prepaid, preprinted shipping must be included for return shipping.
Terms of Entry for Entrants:
If accepted, the original works must be framed and equipped with wire, ready for hanging. Work must not exceed 36 inches in width, including frame. No substitution, exchange, modification, or withdrawal of works is permitted after they are accepted for the exhibition.
All work must arrive between July 2 and and July 8, 2018. Detailed instructions for shipped work and schedule for delivery will be provided to accepted artists.
The Berkeley Arts Council will retain a 30% commission on all sales. Works may not be removed during the exhibition.
Although the Berkeley Arts Council will take reasonable measures to ensure the safety of the entries in the gallery, the BAC is not responsible for loss of or damage to the artwork, and the artist is responsible for his/her own insurance if desired.
