16th Annual Art & Earth Juried Art Exhibit
The Berkeley Arts Council (BAC) announces the 16th Annual Art & Earth Juried Art Exhibit. The exhibit will be on display Thursday, April 16 through Sunday, June 14, 2026 at Berkeley Art Works, 116 North Queen Street, Martinsburg, WV.
The theme of this year’s exhibit is Art and Earth: My Art – My World. Entries should reflect the artist’s view of nature or the environment, or explore an Earth Day-related theme.
Eligibility
The exhibit is open to all visual artists throughout the continental United States, age 18 and older, working in any fine art or fine craft medium or technique, including:

Two- or three-dimensional work

Representational, abstract, or non-representational styles
Entries must be:

Original works completed within the last three (3) years

Not previously exhibited at Berkeley Art Works
Juror
Tim Doud is a professor and director of the MFA program in Studio Art at American University in Washington, DC. He holds an MFA in painting and drawing from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago and also attended the Skowhegan School of Painting and Sculpture in Skowhegan, Maine.
Professor Doud’s work explores two distinct bodies of work – figurative and abstract – addressing themes of constructed identities, clothing, textiles, branding, and commodity culture. He has received grants and participated in residencies across the United States and has exhibited internationally. He is represented by Hemphill Artworks in Washington, DC.

Notification
Notification of the juror’s selections will be announced by email and posted on our website on or about Saturday, March 21, 2026.

Terms of Entry

Works must be original, completed within the last three years, and not previously exhibited at Berkeley Art Works

BAC reserves the right to reject work that does not match the digital entry image or is inadequately presented

No substitution, exchange, modification, or withdrawal after acceptance

Work must remain on display for the duration of the exhibit
Commission
Artwork may be offered for sale or marked NFS.
The Berkeley Arts Council retains a 30% commission on artwork sold during the exhibit.
Insurance and Liability
While BAC will take reasonable measures to ensure artwork safety, the artist is responsible for insuring their own work. BAC is not responsible for loss or damage.
Shipping and Return

A prepaid, printed return shipping label must accompany shipped artwork
Publicity
Artists grant permission for BAC to use submitted images for promotion and publicity, including the website, email, press releases, and social media.
Unclaimed Work
Artwork left more than 30 days after the exhibit closes becomes the property of the Berkeley Arts Council.
